The Maker

My name Artchala (阿查拉). I was born in 1978.

I'm the main person behind the brand. 

Every body thought "Artchala" is just the brand name, but it's actually my Thai's name given by my mom. 

I never though I will step into handmade journey because I don't have a crafty mom to affect my life when I was a kid.

The Brand

In 2008, we accidentally started out our home based fabric bags  with the name "Artchala Handmade".
Couple of years later, we started our learning journey in leather craft skills.

 

We changed the brand name to “Artchala Studio” in 2018 and officially have our physical studio.

 

Simple and a little dab of vintage is what we strive for in our design.

We use natural vegetable tanned cow leather due to its natural, eco friendly, vintage look and earthly color, and just like a human traversing through life, it becomes filled with character as it evolves and ages with usage.

This is a patina, as there are no vegetable tanned pieces that are identical, and none ever age the exact same way.

This creates distinction between each piece of leather, and they are all beautiful in their own right. 

 

Hand-made is a personalized production, not a factory assembly line, and will not stay on the same product for a long time, so each hand-made work embodies the creator's creativity and inspiration.

Our biggest mission when we set up this brand was to make others people as passionate about handcrafted leather like we are. And that is still our biggest mission today.

品牌故事 ：

2008年无心插柳从布包开启手作旅程，以居家模式经营了数年，一边带娃一边卖包一边授课，都是全职。

随后在布包的旅途上慢慢发掘牛皮革的魅力，并且把它融入在布包里成为其中一个设计元素，

同时也开始自学皮艺生涯，那年是2014。

 

2016年决定转换跑道，全心灌注在皮革手作，脱离布作。

等到娃长大后，也就是2018年把工作室搬离住家，正式成立实体工作室。

主要的设计风格偏向于轻复古，在传统工艺结合现代的创意设计之下，

以不喧哗的色调与设计，怀抱着经典的小情怀。此外，偶尔也会配合节日推出趣味小品。

钟情于天然植鞣牛皮革，因其天然、复古的外观和大地色泽，就像人类穿越生活一样，

随着使用的演变和老化，它变得充满个性。由于没有完全相同的植鞣制品，

也没有完全相同的老化方式，这在每一块皮革之问创造了区别，独特与美丽

手作是个性化生产，非工厂流水线，

更不会长期停留在相同的产品上，

所以每一件手作品都凝聚了制作者的创意和灵感。
